We started out as strangers at CAA, and in a short period of time realized we had musical chemistry that could not be constrained by guidelines set forth by others. Forever grateful to owner Jonathan Cazenave and instructors Sergio, Arshia, and Jeff for bringing us together, we’re excited to write our own music and eager to play at a variety of venues. Skeptica had technically performed before for CAA, but this was the first live performance ever with Sam Reid on guitar. We played a jam piece for pre-event music as approximately 120 attendees took their seats, as well as our set, which included instrumental covers of Iron Maiden’s Aces High and Dream Theater’s Pull Me Under, and our first original song, When the Smoke Clears. Hopefully many years from now we will look back at this recital without embarrassment. Time will tell, but today, we are pleased.
